Spring Wreath

We MOVED!!!

Physically moved, not far less than 5 miles.  At first I wasn't sure about it. I was caught up in my own effed up mind of thinking that I wasn't worthy of new, better or really anything good. I digressed into old habits and hated myself everyday.
But I am finally feeling at home. I feel like I belong here. It is such an awesome feeling. I was so afraid that I wasn't going to get that back. I prayed and prayed and today I thank God for finially feeling at HOME.
So as with any new home you need a new wreath!
Here she is.
I had some old flowers, bought a few new ones and threw this together all before a date night with the hubby.

Hobby lobby - 40% off - I love you!

Flowers  - $5
Burlap  $5
Wicker Wreath  $5
Resin Letter $5
Spay paint (optional) $5

I went in looking for the wood letter cutouts but quickly realized I did not like them. So I bought a resin one and spray painted to match the accent color.
I didn't even use a glue gun. I just jammed the flower branches in to the wicker stick wreath.
I didn't have any twine so I just cut the burlap to tie the letter on.

POW POW!

I spray painted the S and them did a

rough sanding on it.

Halloween Wreath

Happy Halloween!

I had an old pair of wings, my hubby plucked all the feathers off.
I just knew I had to use them.

I was inspired by this wreath-----

But I knew I wanted to use my feathers.

Bought a twig wreath from hobby lobby - $4.99 w/ a 40% off coupon. = $3

I couldn't decide what exactly I wanted to do or how to even do my wreath.

I knew I had a lot of fall leaves and flowers I didn't much care for anymore at home.

I left Hobby Lobby with nothing but the twig wreath.

I looked through all of my old flowers and  halloween stuff. and found a few things I could use.

My girlfriend hosts a fall craft party every year so I gathered up my stuff and headed on over.

I spray painted the flowers black and a couple black and then red. My friend organized the feathers amazingly!

This is how it turned out:

My friend Kathy, who hosts the most awesome craft nights ever!

Burlap Wreath with video

I love doing crafts, especially easy ones like this burlap wreath!

First start with a wire wreath. I used the 20 inch from hobby lobby. It was $3.99 and I used a 40% off coupon.

It takes 2 spools of burlap ribbon 15 feet long. You could use more if you want it fluffier.
Hobby Lobby had the spools on sale for 50% at $4.99

I bought some random picks that I liked. Depending on which holiday the options are endless.
I picked Pumpkins, a pear, a flower, and the spike-y feather like things. The flower and the pear were pricy. ($4.99 :) but you can use the 40% off coupon or shop just after the season ends).

Start by looping the ribbon around the middle wire- you can secure it with a twist tie. I didn't have any so it really isn't necessary.
then begin looping the burlap through the wire. Do it randomly so that the wire won't show.

Materials:
20in wire wreath
2 spools 15 ft burlap
4-6 picks to add
Hot Glue Gun
Total Cost- about $20
Total Time- about an hour and a half.

This started out as a Happy Birthday  gift to my girlfriend.
Instead of a general gift, I put all the ingredients for a burlap wreath in a gift bag. We had a girls craft night, filled with wine, cheese, pita cracker's and hummus. I bought myself duplicate items and we started crafting. It didn't take long to figure out that we needed 2 spools of burlap. So we worked on hers because I wanted her to have it. :)

She hung hers on her living room mirror above her mantle so that she could enjoy it at all times.... Love that!

Here is my little helper Gracie & some added photos!

Wreaths

I saw this awesome hydrangea wreath on Pintrest that I wanted to make until I went to Hobby Lobby to pick up supplies and the hydrangea's were $6.99 PER stem. After browsing the sale racks I found these super cute daisies for $1.99 a bushel! I used the twig wreaths and a hot glue gun. The whole wreath was less than $10! I used it all spring and will get to use it every spring.
